What is a B-1/B-2 Visa?
The B-1/B-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows the holder to visit the United States for business or tourism.
B visas cover almost all reasons for temporary travel, with the exception of student travel, which is covered by F-1 visas.
The B-1 visa is for business trips, whereas the B-2 visa is for tourism, such as vacations or family visits.
What are the required documents for the B Visitor Visa?
If you apply for a business/tourist visa, you must submit the following:
a valid passport (with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States),
a Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application (DS-160) Form,
a 2 x 2 inch (51 x 51 mm) photograph of yourself taken within the last six months,
proof of ties to your home country such as family,
job contract,
lease,
or property deed,
criminal records or letters from authorities stating that you do not have prior convictions,
a letter which describes the purpose of your trip,
and financial or bank statements to prove you have the finances to stay in the US!
Why are B-1/B-2 Visas rejected?
The answer to that could be information that is either insufficient or incorrect.
If you provide erroneous or missing information on the application form, you will be denied a US visa.
Even if the section does not apply to you, the Ds-160 form should not be left blank.

How long does it take to get a B-1 visa?
The B-1 visa processing times are not exact.
The processing of your visa can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
This is contingent on the US Embassy’s workload and other variables that they examine.
You will be told whether or not you get the visa after the processing time has passed.
